Location

The Shrine of St. Therese sits on a small island in Lynn Canal, connected to the mainland by a winding causeway north of Juneau. The stone chapel, built in the 1930s from locally gathered beach rock, is set among old-growth Sitka spruce and carpeted in moss. It is a quiet, extraordinary place — fitting for a man who chose Alaska, who loved the outdoors, and who did everything with intention.
